Senior Analyst, Operations Strategy & Insights

This role is based out of Dentalcorp’s Toronto Support Centre (181 Bay St.) Mondays through Thursdays, and Fridays are work from home. As a Senior Analyst, you will play a key role in optimizing operations, driving performance, and unlocking growth across Canada’s largest network of dental practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Labour Management: Analyze labour trends across the network to identify optimization opportunities and to deliver labour budget targets. Partner with Field Operations to monitor key labour KPIs (e.g. labour cost as % of revenue, provider days, support staff ratios), identify variances, and drive continuous improvement through actionable reporting and recommendations.
- Enable Practice Growth: Leverage data and insights using advanced modelling to identify levers for revenue growth, such as optimizing provider schedules, improving chair utilization, or expanding hours of operation. Identify constraints within the business and create strategies to address operational bottlenecks, enhance practice-level performance, and unlock scalable growth opportunities across the network.
- Develop and Implement Operations Strategies: Support the design and rollout of initiatives that improve efficiency, standardization, and performance across the network. This may include building operational playbooks, supporting program rollouts, or analyzing results from pilots. Collaborate directly with senior leaders to shape and execute high-impact initiatives that drive strategic value.
- Field Team Coordination: Work closely with field teams and practices to execute optimization plans effectively across the network, ensuring seamless implementation and alignment with strategic objectives.
- Planning and Forecasting: Develop forecasting models to project revenue, labour demand, and operational performance at the practice, region, and national level. Enhance forecasts with targeted analyses of operational drivers such as practice days closed, provider absences, and vacation schedules, etc. Work closely with Finance and Operations to align forecasts with broader business plans, helping leadership understand the implications of various growth and cost scenarios. Support the annual budget cycle and ongoing reforecasting processes with timely and reliable data inputs.
- Provide Timely Insights on Performance: Develop and maintain reporting that monitors business performance across key metrics (e.g. revenue, labour productivity, scheduling compliance, provider utilization). Conduct root cause analysis to explain performance variances and support the business in identifying opportunities for intervention
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with Operations, Finance, IT, and HR teams to align operational and strategic objectives. Share insights and drive coordinated actions to ensure organizational success.
What we’re looking for
- Professional Experience: At least 2 to 3 years experience in roles within operations, strategy, or analytics ideally in fast-paced and dynamic environments with demonstrated success in supporting multiple, complex projects.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong experience with Microsoft Excel and is open to exploring other data analytics tools.
- Strategic Thinking: Able to see the bigger picture and connect operational data to organizational goals, with the ability to think critically and identify opportunities.
- Analytical Expertise: Exceptional analytical skills with a deep understanding of data analysis and ability to interpret complex data sets, uncover trends, and develop actionable insights that support business priorities. Highly organized and showing great attention to detail.
- Problem-Solving: Comfortable tackling ambiguous challenges with a structured and resourceful approach to deliver practical, data-backed solutions.
- Data Storytelling: Demonstrated ability to translate data into compelling narratives that influence action and make complex information accessible and engaging. Proven track record of using data to inform strategy and influence stakeholders.
- Communication Skills: Clear and confident communicator who can tailor messaging to both technical and non-technical audiences. Experience in crafting and delivering presentations that drive action and align with strategic goals.
- Initiative and Ownership: Proactively takes responsibility for deliverables, follows through on tasks, and brings forward new ideas to improve how things are done.
- Adaptability: Flexible and resilient when priorities shift, with the ability to learn quickly and pivot based on new information or evolving business needs.
